Abstract Art Exhibition (free family art activities)

  • Yardley Arts, The Old School Hall The Square, Yardley Hastings Northampton, England, NN7 United Kingdom (map)
Like a good poem, a good abstraction attacks your feelings before your understanding
— Robert Genn (1936 - 2014 Canadian artist and writer)

This Spring we bring together some of our most talented local artists, offering you the chance to experience abstract art in a variety of mediums and techniques.

An exhibition prioritising colour, shape or movement over the representational story, showcasing the work of established artists.

Katy Burdett - Pierre Clement - Claire Denny - Lucy Gow - Paula Le Baigue - Melissa McDonald - Les Miller - Emma Moore -Claire Mycock - Angela Parker - Sally Pennycate - Emma Saul - Marigold Short

Abstract art is art that does not represent an accurate depiction of visual reality, communicating instead through lines, shapes, colours, forms and gestural marks. Abstract artists use a variety of techniques to create their work, mixing traditional means with more experimental ideas.

An exhibition not to be missed!
