Yardley Arts is delighted to announce a preview and buyers’ auction of paintings
Pierre’s and Ophelia’s paintings will be available for all to see during the preview opening hours. For those interested in buying, sales will take place during the auction at the end of the show. Cards and prints, however, will be available for purchase at the viewing exhibition.
The Artists
Ophelia Redpath - Winner of Landscape Artist of the Year
Setting out as a freelance artist in 1986, she has followed her career as painter, author and illustrator. She was nominated for the Kate Greenaway Prize for Children’s Literature in 2014, and was Winner of Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2020.
She seeks to discover and share the random joy and organic magic offered by her surroundings through the prism of colour and the enigma of light. Currently she is exploring elements within our current culture which cage and cloud that magic, therefore highlighting its value.
Pierre Clement
A lifelong painter, Pierre originally trained as a scenic artist in the theatre. Since then, he has exhibited widely in London and internationally. His paintings have been much coveted in private collections all over Europe.
His objects gather together like actors on a stage, expressive, enigmatic and radiant, each piece playing out a quiet drama upon the canvas. He imparts a dazzling poetry to the material world, whether it be the way sunlight falls on an empty glass or the way a bowl of fruit can assume an almost human character.
