Improving your Sketching, Drawing and Painting Skills (half-day workshop)

This is an ongoing class with tutor Cathy Burnett, designed to build confidence in your ability to work spontaneously in your sketchbook and onward to the development of your own work.

These individual sessions are suitable for all levels; accessible to newcomers and relevant to those who participated in previous sessions.

Cathy will get the ball rolling with advice and inspiration, helping you achieve your creative goals with tailored support and guidance.

What to bring

Either bring your materials with you, or use what we have available.

At Yardley Arts we offer the space to create, in a wonderfully light and relaxed environment.

You will have a choice of a table or an easel (upright or table) to work from – or the floor if you prefer.

WiFi.

A good variety of art books for reference.

We are happy to make a selection of art materials available to you from our store at Yardley Arts at no additional cost. Please note we do not stock everything!

Refreshments will be served half-way through - a chance to take a break and get to know your fellow creatives.

Cost

£22.50 per person. Suitable for ages 16+. Spaces limited to 10. Experience is not necessary as support and guidance will be on hand. If you have creative experience, you will have the opportunity to apply and develop your media handling, colour selection and compositional skills.
