About linocut … and what you will do

Linocut is a printmaking technique, a variant of woodcut in which a sheet of linoleum or vinyl is used for a relief surface.

You will be using a set of ABIG tools with changeable blades and wooden handles and a blue rubber block, Factis, which can be easily bought online. In just 3 hours and 45 minutes, you will learn the basics of linocut and transfer your newly acquired skill into carving a rubber stamp. You will learn about carving tools, materials and where to buy them. You will learn how to transfer your drawing onto a rubber block and how to make various marks with different tools, gain confidence and control. Finally, you will learn how to print your stamps using Versa Craft ink pads. You will go home with a selection of your own hand printed pieces of fabric.

Optional: You can purchase ABIG carving tools for £10.
