Keum-Boo is a fascinating Korean technique of adding fine gold to fine silver to create a stunning combination of materials. In this workshop with silversmith, Beccy Gillatt learn how to use heat and pressure to add the gold as well as texture the metal and form domes or saw pierce forms to create pendants or earrings.

Cost: £47 per person. Materials for a pair of earrings and a pendant are included in the course fee.

The course is limited to 8 spaces (maximum). The course is suitable for ages 12 and up, both total beginners and those with some experience.

• An apron (or old clothes)

• Notepad (blank page) or sketchbook

• Pen and pencil

What to wear

Please make sure that you have a hairband to tie your hair back and do not wear floaty skirts, really loose fitting clothes, scarves or open toe shoes, as we will be in a workshop environment. We will use torches and some acids, which can damage clothes so an apron or pinny is recommended as well as remembering not to wear your favourite jeans!

If you already have a design in mind please contact Beccy to discuss the viability and what you might need to purchase to make it. Afterwards, Beccy would be grateful if you could supply two images of your choice, landscape and portrait, if possible, for use in marketing (website and Facebook).
