From 21 March to 16 April 2023 we open our first solo exhibition with work by artist, designer and tutor Cathy Burnett
‘Art on the Wall ‘ is a rolling exhibition of works on the largest wall in the main space at Yardley Arts.
Works are available to view to all students during their classes or during Cathy’s Open Days on Sat 15 & Sun 16 April - so make this a date in your diary!
Open Day - Saturday 15 April
10am - 4pm
Cathy will be at Yardley Arts for the full day, talking to people about her work and and running a free sketching workshop in the afternoon
10am - 12pm
St. Andrews Church will be hosting a fundraising coffee morning, with bring and buy stalls, a plant stall and a raffle. Cost of entry will be £2 for cake and coffee. All welcome!
1:30pm - 4pm
Cathy will be running a FREE sketching workshop at one end of the studio, just bring along a sketchbook. All abilities welcome. Don’t worry, if you just want to view the work, no one will make you draw!

This is an opportunity to view the work and meet Cathy, whose work explores themes of loss; memory, life events common to us all, which with the passage of time, may assume far more significance. She also teaches one of our most popular courses, You Can Draw!
Cathy was one of our star artists who exhibited and produced work during Open Gardens last Summer. With an interest in collective memory, Cathy has also built a series of work called the ‘Stamp Collection’, begun during lockdown, and still ongoing. So come and see the inspiration behind her teaching and her work.
All works will be for sale. As well as the framed originals on display, prints will also be available.
