Day 1
Introduction introduction to oils and other materials. Making a tonal chart. Demo of then painting an object in monochrome. Big brush exercise.
Day 2
Recap of tone. Demo of still life in monochrome then painting still life. Discussion of colour and overpainting monochrome in colour.
Day 3
Still life of your choice – and potential for Christmas Card printing see below.
What to bring
Penny has arranged with a printer to supply Christmas Cards of the works if you wish to have some printed. Therefore, please bring any Christmas items you wish to include in your finished still life.
Paints, boards, low odour solvent, medium and brushes will be provided.
Bring an apron (or wear old clothes). If you prefer to bring your own brushes, please do so (if you would like recommendations please email the tutor at penny.german999@gmail.com).
Please bring a packed lunch (although delicious lunches are available at pub next door). Tea and coffee available in the kitchen.
Dates and times
Monday 21, Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 June, from 10.30am to 4.30pm on all three days.
Cost
£270 per person (which will include the cost of all materials and artist quality oil paints which make for much better work!). Spaces limited to just 10 people, so book early to avoid disappointment.
