Give your time

Volunteer

We are striving to provide an accessible range of arts workshops, available to everyone, right across Northamptonshire and beyond.

That includes young children, older people who may feel isolated in their own homes, and adults with learning disabilities. Creative arts activities have proved throughout history to be essential to people's wellbeing. Imagine not having access to images, films, music or sculpture? That would be a desolate place to live. We want to offer the opportunity for everybody to be able to experience the joy of being creative together with other people.

To do that, we need your help

A group of volunteers looking happy at an event

We run as a voluntary charitable organisation. We depend on people assisting in workshops, helping us set up sessions, working on the door, cleaning up, etc. If you have an hour or two to spare and would like to be involved volunteering with us then we would love to hear from you.

Helping others has a stronger effect than exercising four times a week!

What we’re looking for right now…

A selection of art materials in a green box, including pencils, charcoal and pens

People who can help in the following areas. Is this you?

  • Book-keeping - someone good with invoicing and keeping accurate records

  • Cleaners - we need to ensure the space is kept clean and tidy

  • Exhibition team - people to man and set up exhibitions and help organise them should you have curating experience

  • Garden design - we’d love to make our garden a more relaxing space for artists to practice

  • Key holders - more people who can open up the arts centre and set up the room(s) for classes (meet and greet)

  • Maintenance - people to help maintain our lovely building and garden

  • Marketing reach - people to help distribute posters and posters to local noticeboards and venues (you can print them off at the arts centre)

  • Networking - developing relationships with other arts organisations

  • Social media marketing - are you a whizz? Understand how to get a wider reach?

If you’re interested in any of these areas, please get in touch. Together let’s make your arts centre somewhere to be proud of for generations to come.

People aged 55 and older who volunteer for two or more organisations have a 44 per cent lower likelihood of dying early, and that’s despite other contributing factors, including physical health, exercise, gender, marital status and habits such as smoking.
